The development of the Greater Bay Area has attracted worldwide attention. Cross-border investments, trades, academic research, technology development and various commercial cooperation become more and more frequent. With the increasing number of start-ups and collaboration within the Greater Bay Area, commercial disputes will inevitably increase. In view of this, we have invited three legal experts in dispute resolutions (especially arbitration) area to share with you the new trends of dispute resolutions in the Greater Bay Area. Different from traditional courtroom litigations, the experts will introduce to you the advantages of arbitration, as an alternative dispute resolution method. 謝女士擁有超過15年國際仲裁及案件管理經驗，她曾監督數百件涉及多個司法管轄區及經濟領域的國際仲裁案件。她曾任國際商會位於香港的國際仲裁院亞洲辦事處秘書長，負責領導香港團隊及與亞洲相關的仲裁案件。謝女士擁有巴黎執業律師資格。

With over 15 years of experience in international arbitration and case management, Emmanuelle** **has supervised hundreds of international arbitration cases in a wide range of jurisdictions and economic sectors. As Counsel of the Secretariat of the International Court of Arbitration of the ICC, Asia Office in Hong Kong, she was responsible for managing the Hong Kong team, including administration of Asia-related arbitration cases. She is qualified to practice at the Paris Bar.

In this webinar, Emmanuelle will share eBRAM’s latest Lawtech and ODR development, and introduce the main features of eBRAM online services, including e-signing, video-conferencing system and Online Dispute Resolution platform. She will also share how commercial parties could use the eBRAM ODR platform to resolve their disputes.

Ms. Athena Wong

Barrister

Athena’s practice focuses on cross-border commercial, criminal and family cases. Before practising as a barrister in Hong Kong, she specialised in negotiating pricing and commercial terms for international firms, including Coca-Cola and Hutchison Telecommunications. Athena was appointed as Deputy Adjudicator of the Small Claims Tribunal in year 2019 (from May to September) and year 2021 (from July to August). She has the experience of adjudicating disputes on various areas. Currently, Ms Wong is a Fellow of Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators (HKIARB), a Chinese Commercial Mediator, a Member of Panel of Arbitrators, eBRAM COVID-19 Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) Scheme, etc.

In this webinar, Athena will provide a brief introduction of different types of dispute resolutions, and in particular, she will talk about the pros and cons between the traditional way of dispute resolutions and alternative dispute resolutions (e.g. arbitration). She will also use a couple interesting cases to share with you some practical tips and strategies in commercial arbitrations.
